Samsung foldable device unveiled

The world’s Smartphone manufacturer, Samsung, has finally launched the foldable device which stands as the future of smartphones in an unpacked event recently in San Francisco.

Samsung foldable device can be folded like a wallet to form a 7.3inch compatible device, or to a tab of about 10inch, this device was accompanied by the galaxy S10, S10 Plus, and S10E which according to the Korean giant company will compete alongside the iPhone Xs.

The Samsung foldable device will be available in April to be sound at $1,980 which is approximately estimated to be about £1,516 making the device stand out from the rest as the most expensive smartphone in the market.

The new Galaxy Fold runs 7nm 64-bit Octa-Core Processor, Android 9.0 (Pie), and 12GB of RAM, making it one of the most powerful smartphones on the market (and ever). It has 512GB of onboard memory. Because the phone folds up like a tablet from essentially two “smartphone” bodies, it comes with a dual battery, one in each side of the device that linkup together.

Samsung claims that the Galaxy Fold will fit in the palm when it’s folded.

The device will be able to run three (3) apps simultaneously when fully unfolded spotting six (6) cameras three in the back, two on the inside and one on the front. After the company spent about five years producing this device, it’s hoping for a big payout when it finally starts sale come April.

Samsung also unveils its latest flagship devices – the Samsung S10, S10e, and S10+ devices which cost between $669 and $1,099.

Each of these devices launched boast of 128GB storage to say of the least, fancy cameras and a sleek design which covers the front of the smartphones. The device can take wider angle shots and its ability to charge other wireless devices like headphones and smartwatches is an additional bonus on its side.


Samsung teased further of its biggest smartphone yet S10, which boast of the 5G network and will be available later this year when 5G network band will be coming online offering 6.7inch screen display.

Samsung S10 series (S10, S10E and S10 Plus) have a screen size of 6.1, 5.8 and 6.4inch display all run on OctaCore 8nmn processor with RAM of 8GB, 6 or 8GB, and 8GB or 12GB respectively. The Samsung S10 comes in varieties of colors – Black, Prism Black, Green, White, Pearl White, and Blue while the S10E features colors – Canary Yellow, Prism Black, Green, White and Blue and the S10+ coming in only two (2) colors – Ceramic Black and Ceramic White.

Samsung Chief Executive DJ Koh further stated that this was just the beginning when skeptics announced that the company had done everything –

“The Galaxy Fold breaks new ground not just because it defines categories. It breaks new ground because it answers skeptics, who say that everything has been done, that the Smartphone is a mature category in a saturated market; we are here to prove them wrong.”

“Today marks a new beginning, a shift.”

“The next decade of progress and innovation. I am excited by what we have achieved, but I am even more excited by what we have enabled.”

Hence, this leaves us in the hopes of more significant inventions from the Korean smartphone giants.
